What offers clowns, rides, farm animals and classic rock, not to mention a lot of fried food on a stick? Answer: The Orange County Fair, which opened Friday in Costa Mesa.
Among this year’s attractions are a rodeo, monster trucks and a mixed martial arts show called SummerFist 9. Musical acts include Boston, Ozomatli and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, plus tributes to ABBA, Journey and the Eagles. For a complete list, visit ocfair.com.
The weather should be perfect for opening weekend, with highs in the mid-70s and partly cloudy skies.
The fair runs until Aug. 14, opening from noon to midnight Wednesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday. It’s closed Monday and Tuesday.
General admission is $12; seniors and children 6-12 are $7. Children under 6 get in free. Parking is $10.
