Boy, 11, dies after collapsing at Moreno Valley middle school

An 11-year-old from Moreno Valley died this week after he collapsed playing football during lunch recess at his middle school, authorities said.
Elijah Allen collapsed about 12:20 p.m. Tuesday at Vista Heights Middle School in the 23000 block of Old Lake Drive, according to the Riverside County sheriff-coroner office.
Authorities said Allen had a medical condition that “may have contributed to his passing” and said there were no visible signs of external injuries.
Staff from the school tried to perform CPR on Allen and he was taken to a hospital where he died shortly after 1 p.m.
