A man suspected of driving into oncoming traffic at a Fullerton intersection died in an eight-vehicle accident Thursday.
The collision occurred about 4 p.m. at Harbor Boulevard and Valencia Mesa Drive, said Fullerton police Sgt. Jeff Stuart.
Witnesses said the male driver, who has not been identified, was speeding northbound on Harbor Boulevard when his Ford F-150 hit the vehicles in the southbound lane.
“It looks like the cars were sitting at a red light and he plowed right into them,” Stuart said.
The crash catapulted the truck onto its top.
Five passengers in the other cars were taken to hospitals with various injuries. Their conditions weren’t known, Stuart said.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing. The area where the crash occurred was closed to traffic for several hours.
