A high school basketball coach in Chino was in custody Thursday after being arrested on suspicion of sexual misconduct with a student and child pornography.
Valerie Segura, 20, of Ontario, was booked Tuesday at West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of sending and receiving child pornography and annoying or molesting a child, said Michelle Van Der Linden, a spokeswoman for the city of Chino.
Van Der Linden said Chino police officers went to Don Lugo High School around 2 p.m. Tuesday to investigate sexual misconduct allegations involving a coach and a student.
Segura, a coach for the girls’ junior basketball team, was arrested at the school later that evening. It was her second year at the school, officials said.
A spokesperson for the Chino Valley Unified School District could not be reached for comment.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Chino Police Department at (909) 628-1234.
