City Council race: An article in the May 18 LATExtra section about the race for the 1st District seat on the L.A. City Council said candidate Jose Gardea and his supporters have criticized opponent Gil Cedillo’s ties to organized labor. Gardea’s campaign has questioned Cedillo’s links to companies such as Wal-Mart and Chevron, but not labor.
Campaign spending: A graphic in the May 19 California section with an article about record-breaking spending in the L.A. mayoral race gave an incorrect total for spending in 2005. The correct figure was $23.2 million, not $28.4 million.
WikiLeaks documentary: An article about the documentary “We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks” in the May 19 Calendar section identified producer Marc Shmuger as a former Universal Pictures co-chairman. He was chairman.
