Attention current supercars: youve been put on notice...McLaren is coming for you.
The company officially unveiled its long-awaited (and long-rumored) P1 supercar today, ahead of its world debut at the Paris Motor Show next week.
While McLaren was mum on what kind of power this car will pack (or how, though theres wild speculation the car could have almost 1,000 horsepower from a V-8 paired with a KERS setup), it did say the P1 had a single goal: to be the best drivers car in the world on road and track.
While such a claim may sound a bit ambitious, such a feat is in McLarens wheelhouse. Its legendary F1 supercar from the 1990s is still considered one of the worlds best-driving cars, and remains highly sought after.
This P1 will sit atop McLarens small lineup; with the MP4-12C and 12C Spider serving as the companys more modest fare. McLaren says the P1 you see here is a design study, with the final version bowing early next year, but expect it to look very much like what you see here. Production on the P1 should start in about a years time.
No word yet on price, but dont be shocked if it runs into seven figures.
