Update: Actor Jerry Douglas, known for his long-running role as “The Young and the Restless” patriarch John Abbott, and his wife, Kymberly Bankier, have sold their Encino home for $2,075,000.
The two-story traditional house, built in 1951, sits on half an acre. It has a total of five bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms in 5,335 square feet. There are vaulted ceilings, French doors and three fireplaces. The landscaped grounds include manicured lawns, a built-in barbecue, a covered patio, a fenced pool and spa area and a two-story guesthouse of about 900 square feet.
Douglas, 77, whose television guest appearances date from the early ‘60s, released the CD “The Best Is Yet to Come,” a collection of classic standards, in 2006.
The property had been on the market last year at $3,999,000.
Harriet Cameron of Prudential California Realty, Sherman Oaks, handled both sides of the transaction.
