Mindful that you might be reading this over breakfast, we’ll spare you the gruesome zombie photos and instead give you Danai Gurira, below, as the mysterious Michonne, to herald the return of the apocalyptic horror-drama “The Walking Dead.” (AMC, 9 p.m.)

MONDAY

Driven from his tribal lands, determined to keep a promise to his dying son, a Native American sues the federal government, and a little-known chapter in U.S. history is revealed, in the new documentary “Standing Bear’s Footsteps.” (KOCE, 10 p.m.)

TUESDAY

“Dear Dracula,” do you really go around biting people on the neck? Have you seen any of those “Twilight” movies? Pretty silly, huh? Ray Liotta voices the titular vampire in this kid-friendly, Halloween-themed animated tale. (Cartoon Network, 7 p.m.)

Original one-percenters Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller and Cornelius Vanderbilt are among “The Men Who Built America” profiled in this miniseries mixing dramatic reenactments with commentary from present-day captains of industry. (History, 9 p.m.)

WEDNESDAY

You don’t have to be creepy to work there, but it helps: A home for the terminally strange and the criminally deranged is the setting for “American Horror Story: Asylum,” the latest iteration of Ryan Murphy’s spooky series. With Jessica Lange. (FX, 10 p.m.)

If you’ve ever been in a situation so scandalous, a predicament so perilous, it led you to declare “My life is a Lifetime movie,” then you might enjoy the new series “My Life Is a Lifetime Movie,” about real women who … well, you get the idea. (Lifetime, 10 p.m.)

THURSDAY

Ladies and gentlemen! For your delectation! Prestidigitation! See the mystifying “Indian rope trick”! Thrill to the death-defying “bullet catch”! These and other legendary illusions are revisited in the new special “Lost Magic Decoded.” (History, 9 p.m.)

FRIDAY

Lovely and lethal: Maggie Q is back as “Nikita” when that action-drama returns for its third season. And Melissa George (“Alias”) is a covert operative with a score to settle in the new espionage drama “Hunted.” (KTLA, 9 p.m.; Cinemax, 10 p.m.)

SATURDAY

He never said actors were cattle. He said they should be treated like cattle. Alfred Hitchcock (Toby Jones, below) has an uneasy relationship with leading lady Tippi Hedren (Sienna Miller) in “The Girl,” a new docudrama about the making of the suspense master’s 1963 thriller, “The Birds.” (HBO, 9 p.m.)
