A Night at the Movies: The new episode “Hollywood Goes to Washington” examines the film industry’s portrayal of politics and politicians, from “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” to “All the President’s Men.” Interviewees include directors Oliver Stone and Rob Reiner, Fred Thompson and James Carville (5 and 8:15 p.m. TCM). Director Frank Capra’s social comedies “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” and “Meet John Doe” air at 6 and 9:15 p.m. on TCM.

CSI: NY: A recently paroled serial arsonist (Rob Morrow) continues his revenge spree in this new episode (8 p.m. CBS).

Sound Tracks: Music Without Borders 2: Wynton Marsalis and his Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra perform in Chicago in this new episode that also features performances from Scottish folk singer Julie Fowlis, who wrote and recorded the theme song to “Brave.” And African singer Youssou N’Dour(9 p.m. KOCE).

Boss: Kane (Kelsey Grammer) manages to form an alliance with Alderman Ross (James Vincent Meredith) and other opponents on the City Council, but he soon realizes it will take more than that to stave off bankruptcy and stay in power in this new episode. Connie Nielsen and Troy Garity also star (9 and 10 p.m. Starz).

Blue Bloods: Danny and Jackie (Donnie Wahlberg, Jennifer Esposito) investigate when an injured woman recants her claim that she’s a victim of domestic violence, and they discover she is secretly involved with a powerful councilman (Richard Burgi) who’s also a friend of Frank’s (Tom Selleck). Amy Carlson also stars in this new episode (10 p.m. CBS).

Baseball: MLB wild card games: The St. Louis Cardinal visit the Atlanta Falcons (2 p.m. TBS). The Baltimore Orioles visit the Texas Rangers (5:30 p.m. TBS).
