Bradley Cooper to receive Hollywood Film Award

Bradley Cooper, People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2011, is the winner of the Hollywood Film Awards’ Hollywood Actor Award.
Cooper, 37, who has starred in such box office hits as “The Hangover” and “The Hangover Part II,” is being honored for his role in David O. Russell’s acclaimed “Silver Linings Playbook,” opening Nov. 21. He plays a former teacher just released from a mental institution who has moved back home with his parents.
“We are honored to present the Hollywood Actor Award to Bradley Cooper for his outstanding performance in the ‘Silver Linings Playbook,”’ said Carlos de Abreu, founder and executive director of the Hollywood Film Awards, in a statement Monday.
Russell was previously announced as the winner of Hollywood Film Awards’ Hollywood Director Award and Robert De Niro, who plays Cooper’s father, the recepient of the Hollywood Supporting Actor Award.
The awards will be handed out on Oct. 22 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The Los Angeles Times sponsors the Hollywood Film Awards.
