Music: Chocolate Genius promises sweet times at the Satellite
- Share via
The OohlaLA Festival is a days-long local showcase for contemporary French music, but one particular set is a multi-generational testament to Gallic-inspired creativity. Chocolate Genius, the experimental singer-songwriter project from Marc Anthony Thompson, has collaborated with Bruce Springsteen and also titans in the avant-garde. But here he teams up with his daughter’s band, the local electro-soul combo Caught a Ghost, a recent Satellite resident act. Also onboard are the rising Francois & the Atlas Mountains and the drolly named Freedom Fry. The Satellite, 1717 Silver Lake Blvd., L.A. 9 p.m. Sat. $10-$12. https://www.thesatellitela.com.
