Hollywood headlines: A crazy week in review
Colombian rock superstar Juanes won the album of the year trophy for “Juanes MTV Unplugged” at the XIII Annual Latin Grammy Awards on Thursday evening in Las Vegas, and the Mexico City sibling pop duo Jesse y Joy (that’s Jesse and Joy, to English speakers) won record of the year and song of the year for their melancholy, down-tempo lover’s lament “¡Corre!” (Run!). Certifying their swift rise from upstarts to establishment pros, Jesse y Joy, who were voted best new artist in 2007, this year also won for contemporary pop vocal album for “¿Con Quién Se Queda El Perro?” (translated as “Who Gets the Dog?”). They also won best short form music video for “Me Voy.” In contrast to last year, when the Puerto Rican sibling reggaeton-urban duo Calle 13 carted off practically every award save the Nobel Peace Prize, this year’s haul was much more equitably distributed.

Guy Fieri’s new restaurant takes a beating, Jon Bon Jovi’s daughter is arrested after a possible heroin overdose, and Channing Tatum is named 2012’s sexiest man alive in this weeks Hollywood headlines.
Guy Fieri was in full-on damage control mode Thursday as he hopped on a red-eye flight to be in New York City and on NBC’s “Today” to defend his recently opened restaurant, Guy’s American Bar and Grill. The Times Square eatery, which opened in September, was recently on the receiving end of a brutal review by New York Times food critic Pete Wells, who wrote his entire review as a series of questions. The questions included, “And when we hear the words Donkey Sauce, which part of the donkey are we supposed to think about?” The review has since gone viral online, a turn of events that can’t make Fieri happy. So he made a special appearance on “Today” to fire back at the Times critic. “He came in with a different agenda,” Fieri told interviewer Savannah Guthrie. “It’s a great way to make a name for yourself, go after a celebrity chef who is not a New Yorker.”

Rihanna dresses provocatively -- it’s the perennial dog-bites-man pop music story. And the Barbados-born singer certainly lives up to that reputation in a new GQ feature, posing for its cover wearing, well, not a whole lot. But the actual article has a more novel tidbit of information, gleaned as the singer flacks her sultry and simmering new album, “Diamonds.” Writer Jay Bulger (in his first GQ feature - that’s a heck of an assignment!) trails Ms. Fenty for a night of clubbing and along the way gets her first candid comments about the infamous Chris Brown-Drake brawl that erupted at a New York nightclub in June. “There’s no proof of that being for my love. That’s my answer to that question,” she told Bulger.
