Hollywood Headlines: A week in review
Don’t call it deja vu. After a bevy of endorsement deals (Diet Pepsi and CoverGirl, to name a couple) and a healthy salary bump, Vergara grossed $30 million from June 2012 to June 2013. It’s no wonder that she’s been named this year’s queen of prime-time television again. (Mark Davis / Getty Images)

The notoriously vocal rapper has remained mum about his reported $3-million performance at the wedding reception of Aisultan Nazarbayev, the Kazakh president’s grandson. Meanwhile, human-rights organizations pounced on his decision. “The regime crushes freedom of speech and association; someone like Kanye, who makes a living expressing his views, would find himself in a prison under Nazarbayev’s rule,” Human Rights Foundation President Thor Halvorssen said, calling the country a “human rights wasteland.” (Juan Ocampo / Getty Images)
Apparently, more than 60,000 fans of the erotic romance novel weren’t imagining actors Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson as their B&D-loving Christian Grey and schoolgirl Anastasia Steele in the upcoming adaptation of the book, and they made it known in an online petition. “Matt Bomer is the PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF CHRISTIAN GREY AND ALEXIS BLEDEL IS THE PERFECT ACTRESS TO REPRESENT ANASTASIA STEELE and if THEY ARE NOT, NOBODY WILL BE,” a petition on Change.org read. Underwood’s onstage fall in Texas left her with a foot injury, but Twitter revealed that the country music diva was still in high spirits. “Good news, it’s not broken...AND I got some new footwear!” she tweeted with a photo of the booted, ailing limb.
