A stunt performer and actress were injured Thursday night during filming of the ABC crime drama “Castle.”
The stuntman sustained a head injury during a driving scene at the Paramount Pictures lot and was hospitalized in serious condition.
The actress he was working with, Karen David, also was treated and released from a hospital with unspecified injuries, according to a person close to the set who was not authorized to speak about the incident.
A representative for ABC declined to comment.
A spokeswoman for SAG-AFTRA said the union was investigating the incident, which was first reported by Deadline.
The last serious film set accident in the L.A. area occurred in September when a diver working on Disney’s movie “The Lone Ranger” drowned while prepping a tank for an underwater shooting scene in northern L.A. County.
The L.A. County coroner’s office said the crew member was a 48-year-old man who was cleaning a pool in Acton that was going to be used in the film. He appeared to have suffered a heart attack.
