Golden Globes 2013: Backless and blush, two big trends of the night
- Share via
Forget strapless, the night’s big statement appears to be backless. Yes, the bare back is the new erogenous zone on the Golden Globes red carpet.
Naomi Watts is wearing a backless Zac Posen gown, definitely one of my favorite looks of the night. Covered up in the front, with long sleeves, it looks fresh, as does her side swept hair. (Amy Poehler is wearing a similar ‘do.)
Another backless statement? Julianna Margulies’ black lace Pucci gown.
Nude, cream and blush tones are all over the place, too. Kerry Washington’s sheer Miu Miu dress is the clear winner though, with delicate silver embroidery. A close second would be “Downton Abbey” actress Michelle Dockery, in a cream column gown with gold leaf embroidered bodice. It’s by French designer Alexandre Vauthier.
I’ve also seen a 1960s theme. Check out Nicole Kidman’s bob and Sienna Miller’s floral-embroidered Erdem top and skirt ensemble.
