Channing Tatum buys bucolic spread in Ojai

Channing Tatum has been getting his real estate house in order this year. He and his wife, actress-dancer Jenna Dewan-Tatum, bought a house in Beverly Hills for $6 million, sold another in Hollywood Hills West for $2.7 million and, public records now show, in February purchased a nearly 48-acre vacant spread in rural Ojai for $750,000.
A winding tree-lined road provides access to the bucolic acreage, which features valley and Topatopa Mountains views. Two potential building sites have panoramic vistas, and electricity and water are available on the site.
Meadows, seasonal creeks and woodlands make up the private parcel, which could be used for a horse ranch as there’s plenty of room for a barn, guest quarters, a caretaker’s home and horse facilities.
The property last sold in 2004 for $987,000 and has been on and off the market several times since then.
Tatum, 34, has starred in such films as “Foxcatcher” (2014), “Magic Mike” (2012) and the “Jump Street” movies. Dewan-Tatum, 34, has appeared on the TV shows “Witches of East End” (2013-14) and “American Horror Story” (2012).
The transaction closed outside the Multiple Listing Service. Pete Norris of California Outdoor Properties had the listing at the beginning of the year before it expired.
