Robert Stromberg of ‘Avatar’ lists Playa del Rey home

Art director Robert Stromberg has listed his house in Playa del Rey at $1.599 million.
The 1920s Spanish-style house features a family room, a library/den, a rooftop studio/library, four fireplaces, five bedrooms, three bathrooms and about 3,300 square feet of living space. There is an outdoor living room and a detached studio.
The property previously changed hands in 1999 for $689,000, public records show.
Stromberg won Oscars for art direction of “Avatar” (2009) and “Alice in Wonderland” (2010). He was production designer on “Oz the Great and Powerful,” now in release.
Alice Plato of Coldwell Banker’s Marina West office is the listing agent.
