An overturned cement truck dumped wet concrete and diesel on the 110 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday morning, snarling traffic in both directions for hours.
The accident on the northbound side of the freeway at Olympic Boulevard was reported about 7:20 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Krystal Carter said. At least two other vehicles were involved, she said.
All northbound lanes were closed until about 12:30 p.m. Southbound lanes remained closed for a couple more hours.
Northbound traffic was slowed as far south as Slauson Avenue. Southbound traffic began slowing at the Golden State Freeway interchange.
