Washington gig: Ernest Wilson III, dean of the Annenberg School for Communication at USC, has been elected chairman of the board of directors of the Corp. for Public Broadcasting, the agency that oversees the distribution of federal funds to public radio and television stations.
Casting news: Oscar-winning actress Sissy Spacek is joining HBO’s “Big Love.” She’ll play a Washington lobbyist in a multi-episode arc starting in the third episode next season.
