“The English Roses: The New Girl”
Madonna
Have you ever heard of the English Roses? If not, they are best friends: Nicole, Amy, Charlotte, Grace and now Binah. They do everything together.
Nicole and the rest of the English Roses need to rehearse for a talent show. But instead Nicole goes to her friend Leslie’s house and then to a concert when she promised to rehearse.
Do the English Roses get along with Leslie? Read this book to find out.

“Fox in Socks”
Dr. Seuss
I like this book because it is about a fox and a yellow man. The fox plays with the yellow man. But the yellow man does not want to play with the fox. So they do a lot of stuff and the yellow man is mad.
Read this book because it is funny.

“The Great Gilly Hopkins”
Katherine Paterson
Gilly Hopkins is a brilliant girl. She yields to nobody! She is a foster child and none of her foster homes have been able to turn her tricky, nasty attitude around. She hasn’t seen her mother in forever and the only communication they have is the occasional letter.
Will Gilly be able to track her mother down and live happily ever after? Or will she have to learn to live without a permanent family?

“Talkin’ About Bessie”
Nikki Grimes
Elizabeth Coleman was the first African American to obtain an international pilot’s license. She grew up in a time when segregation was a way of life. It wasn’t easy to survive. That did not stop “Bessie” Coleman from doing what she wanted. She was only 11 when the Wright Brothers made their first flight.
I would recommend this book to fourth graders, because it is challenging to read. Read it and learn more interesting facts.
