Milwaukee 8, at St. Louis 4: Braden Looper carried a two-hitter into the seventh inning and Mat Gamel hit a three-run home run in his first career start to help the Brewers complete a three-game sweep. Milwaukee’s Jason Kendall became the eighth catcher to reach 2,000 hits. Looper (4-2) gave up three hits and three runs -- one earned -- in six-plus innings.
Pittsburgh 12, at Washington 7: The Nationals made four errors, and a five-run sixth inning led the Pirates to their third consecutive victory. Ross Ohlendorf (5-3) won despite giving up four extra-base hits in a five-run fifth inning. Jack Wilson had four hits for the Pirates.
Arizona at Florida, ppd: The game was rained out and will be made up Wednesday as part of a doubleheader.
at Dodgers 3, New York 2 (11 inn.): The Mets committed five errors, including two in the 11th inning.
