A motorist who crashed his car in a park early Friday had been wounded in a shooting, Los Angeles police said.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Valley Division responded about 2:45 a.m. to a radio call of a traffic accident at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Genesta Avenue. Witnesses told police that they saw the driver crash after losing control of his vehicle and tried to help him after realizing he had been shot.
The man was taken to a hospital. Investigators later determined the shooting occurred at Hayvenhurst Avenue and the 101 Freeway.
Anyone with information is asked to call the LAPD’s West Valley Division at (818) 374-7611.
