The average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage was 4.86% this week, up from 4.84% last week, mortgage company Freddie Mac said.
A 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 4.52%, up just slightly from 4.51% last week. Five-year adjustable-rate mortgages averaged 4.82%, down from 4.9%. One-year adjustable-rate mortgages fell to 4.71% from 4.78%.
The rates do not include add-on fees known as points. The nationwide fee averaged 0.6 of a point for the loans covered in Freddie Mac’s report.
