The West Valley League championship on the line

NO. 1 CHATSWORTH (24-3, 10-2)
AT NO. 11 RESEDA CLEVELAND (21-6, 11-1)
Today at 3 p.m.
Why it matters: The West Valley League championship and No. 1 seeding for the City Section Division I playoffs should be decided in this game. Cleveland holds a one-game lead, but a Chatsworth victory would pull the Chancellors into a first-place tie and give them the tiebreaker edge since the teams have split their previous two meetings. John Wilson, who is 8-0 and defeated Chatsworth, 3-2, last month, will be on the mound for Cleveland. He kept the Chancellors off balance with an effective slider on April 14. Chatsworth is expected to start Andrew Klausmeier, who is usually a closer. Each team will have two games left, with Cleveland having to face third-place Woodland Hills El Camino Real on Tuesday.
