The Los Angeles County Museum of Art has received an invigorating infusion of Hollywood-style leadership -- and possibly dollars as well.
Terry Semel, the former head of Warner Bros. and Yahoo!, has been elected to the position of co-chairman of LACMA’s board of trustees. Semel, who has served as a LACMA board member since 2006, will take his new position alongside Andrew Gordon, who assumed the position of chairman in 2007.
The museum also announced the election of three new trustees to the board, including Brian Grazer, the Oscar-winning producer (“A Beautiful Mind”) and co-founder of Imagine Entertainment. The board’s other new members are Gabriel Brener, head of Brener International Group, an investment company, and Dasha Zhukova, founder of the Garage Centre for Contemporary Culture, a Moscow nonprofit art space.
