Juniper Networks Inc., the second-largest maker of networking equipment, reported fourth-quarter sales that fell short of analysts’ estimates and said it deferred some revenue from Japan after an audit.
Revenue increased 14% to $923.5 million, the Sunnyvale, Calif., company said.
Fourth-quarter profit rose 7.8% to $132.5 million, or 25 cents a share, from $122.9 million, or 22 cents, a year earlier. Excluding certain costs, profit was 32 cents a share, matching estimates.
Juniper shares dropped 10% to $15.20 in after-hours trading.
