Christopher Knight’s brilliant expose of the present disastrous war on the arts is long overdue [“Stimulate, That’s What Arts Do,” Feb. 6].
It is a wake-up call for the nation. The disastrous dumbing down of our national “culture” is shocking. Hundreds of billions of dollars for wars but total neglect of the nation’s creative life.
We have become a nation obsessed with things, war and power. It will be our undoing. Brains without the heart lead to a world without beauty or hope.
