Bell Gardens councilman: An article in Thursday’s California section about the sentencing of former Bell Gardens City Councilman Mario Beltran for four misdemeanors said he was prohibited from ever seeking or holding elected or appointed office again. He was prohibited only from assuming office during a four-year probationary period as negotiated in a plea agreement.
