THE $698 DEAL

Ireland . . . the scenery, the greenery, the food. OK, maybe not so much the food, but the other things, sure. CIE Tours International is offering a six-day tour that sounds well-suited to Emerald Isle beginners looking to stretch a buck.

The deal: For prices beginning at $698 (land only, double occupancy and excluding taxes and fees), travelers get a fully escorted swing through southern Ireland, including four nights’ accommodations, Irish breakfasts, four dinners and entertainment. The tour begins in Dublin, then moves through Cashel, Blarney, Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, the Cliffs of Moher and Bunratty. Chris Erskine is a nationally known humor columnist and editor who retired from the Los Angeles Times in 2020.
