Man killed in crash is identified

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office on Saturday identified the driver of an SUV who was killed when his vehicle veered off a freeway ramp and landed in a backyard in Hawthorne.
Armando Jose Huante, 20, of Los Angeles was transitioning from the southbound 405 Freeway to the eastbound 105 Freeway about 8:50 p.m. Friday when the vehicle crashed through a guardrail, clipped a house and came to rest in the backyard of a house at 115th Street and Sundale Avenue, Hawthorne police said.
Huante was pronounced dead at the scene. California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Gonzales declined to speculate whether rain was a factor, although it had been raining heavily in the area.
