Funeral services for the Culver City police officer killed by a wrong-way driver on the 10 Freeway will be held Friday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles.
Sgt. Curtis Massey, 41, was driving across the Westside to work Jan. 28 when his vehicle collided head-on with one driven by Luis Arnoldo Vanegas Palma, 21, of Van Nuys. Both men died at the scene.
The 10 a.m. funeral will be presided over by Cardinal Roger M. Mahony. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. Massey, who is survived by his wife and three children, was a 17-year veteran.
On behalf of Massey’s family, the department has set up the Sgt. Curtis Massey Memorial Fund. Donations may be sent to Culver City Employees Federal Credit Union, 9770 Culver Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232.
