Garth Brooks concert: A Quick Takes item in Wednesday’s Calendar said Garth Brooks’ concert Nov. 14 in Kansas City, Mo., had been reported as a thank-you to Wal-Mart for its support of his music. Brooks’ original plan to stage a Wal-Mart thank-you concert became an event open to the public when Brooks was offered use of the new Sprint Center sports arena for the show.
