Drill instructor accused of abusing recruits

A former Marine Corps drill instructor was arraigned in a military court Tuesday on charges of abusing recruits at the boot camp.

Sgt. Robert Hankins is charged with one count of assault and three of maltreatment, along with other charges. A court-martial was set for January; if convicted, he could be sentenced to a year in the brig.
