A third of the state’s top schools are in O.C.

One-third of the 27 California campuses designated as Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education on Tuesday are in Orange County.
Considered national models of excellence, the local honored schools are Arroyo Elementary and Tustin Memorial Academy in Tustin, Beechwood Elementary in Fullerton, Deerfield Elementary in Irvine, Fairmont Elementary in Yorba Linda, Mariners Elementary in Newport Beach, Mariners Christian School and Victoria Elementary in Costa Mesa, and Olinda Elementary in Brea.
