What’s Current About 1852?

Thank you so much for your powerful commentary on the execution of Saddam Hussein in “1852” (“For the Subjugated Indians, Some Food, a Loincloth, a Blanket,” Rearview Mirror, Jan. 14). That you never mentioned any current events was more than creative. A brilliant example of your shying away from an emotionally charged subject without actually turning your back on the topic.
