Regular Folks Shun High Prices at Theaters
- Share via
Is it any surprise that theater snack profits are declining if movie attendance is down (“Now Showing: Declining Sales at Theater Snack Bars,” March 18)?
Regular folks aren’t stupid. They will not continue to throw away their hard-earned money on exorbitant ticket prices and snacks for a mediocre theater experience contaminated by commercials and cellphones.
When it costs my husband and me more than $30 for tickets, a soda and popcorn, I can tell you that two quality films without commercials and inexpensive snacks from our cupboard look mighty appealing.
What should worry the theaters even more is that my husband and I used to go to the movies every single week. Now, it is a rare occasion.
