Has a major U.S. sport ever completely disappeared from the landscape as quickly as the NHL? If pro baseball, football or basketball ever suffered work stoppages that truly threatened the very survival of the league, would The Times contribute practically zero information as has been done in this instance?
Where are the sappy Bill Plaschke columns bemoaning the poor hockey player having to get by without that steady paycheck? Can you tell me that J.A. Adande has no insights on this fascinating tug-of-war between labor and management?
And why hasn’t T.J. Simers aimed his poison pen at the Kings’ owners and players for their part in this mess?
