Ashley Tarutis, Los Alamitos: Setter had 28 assists and three blocks for Griffins, No. 4 in The Times’ rankings, in a 25-16, 25-13, 25-19 nonleague victory over San Clemente.
Alyson Jennings, Newport Harbor: Had 23 assists, 15 kills and two aces for No. 8 Sailors (6-3) in a four-game loss to state power Mountain View St. Francis (8-2).
Kelley Hanson, Moorpark: Had eight kills and nine digs in a 25-15, 25-21, 25-14 nonleague victory over Simi Valley Grace Brethren.
Andrea Monroe, Pasadena Poly: Had 12 kills and five aces in a 25-11, 25-8, 25-16 Prep League victory over Arcadia Rio Hondo Prep.
BOYS’ WATER POLO
Grant Miller, La Verne Damien: Had eight goals for the No. 6 Spartans (8-0) in a 13-7 nonleague victory over Palm Desert (6-3), which was paced by Adi Jerkovic’s four goals. Damien is No. 1 in the Southern Section Division V rankings and Palm Desert is No. 5.
John Prunckle, Rolling Hills Estates Peninsula: Had 15 saves in a 9-5 nonleague victory over Palos Verdes.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Simone Greene, L.A. Westchester: Junior won, 8-0, at No. 1 singles in 5-2 nonleague victory over Harbor City Narbonne.
Brittany Kunza and Celine Ko, Covina South Hills: Swept their sets at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, in 14-4 nonleague victory over San Dimas.
