Landmark awaits its due

Great section on the state of downtown (“It’s Finally Happening,” Oct. 16). It was exciting to read about all of the new building, renovating, etc., but, sadly, I read nothing about restoring the Alexandria Hotel. I watched it go through two renovations in years past (neither one took) and so hope that this new downtown revitalization thrust will include a definitive restoring of the grande dame of the downtown hotels. There is so much history there!
