Ex-Deputy Sentenced to Probation and Fined

A former sheriff’s deputy was placed on three years’ probation after pleading guilty Tuesday to tampering with evidence -- $2,500 seized during a prostitution bust.
James G. Means, who has resigned from the Sheriff’s Department, will pay a $1,000 fine as part of the plea agreement on the misdemeanor count.
