Vote Delayed on Traffic Policy in Santa Rosa Valley

After an hour of public testimony, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors decided Tuesday to put off a decision on reconsidering a traffic policy regarding a gridlocked Santa Rosa Valley intersection.
Residents of the upscale rural community don’t want any changes, saying the “no right on red” policy at a traffic light at Moorpark and Santa Rosa roads creates convenient traffic breaks.
But commuters who endure extended delays at the intersection want the rule changed. They are supported by the county’s public works department and county Chief Executive Johnny Johnston, who want to remove the right turn restriction.
Supervisors unanimously agreed to send the issue back to county staff for more review before reporting to the board in February.
