Drivers to Pay $1 Fee to Offset Pollution Costs

Drivers in the San Joaquin Valley will have to pay an additional $1 fee when they register their vehicles as of Jan. 1 to help cover costs of air pollution.
The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District voted Thursday to approve the fee hike, expected to raise as much as $2.38 million annually.
