The vision for the new Patina
We appreciate the story “Patina Set to Move Into Disney Hall” (Oct. 1). But far from being a “bug light” for tourists, we believe the architectural vision of Frank Gehry and Hagy Belzberg will create a unique and privileged oasis for Patina in one of the premier cultural venues in America. Diners will have separate access to the restaurant as if it were a stand-alone facility, including its own valet parking. Every member of the Patina-Melrose employee family has been given the opportunity to join the Disney Hall team or another Patina Group restaurant. Our loyal patrons will recognize most of their favorites in the new dining room.

Although it’s true I’m no longer at Patina, my departure was in the planning for over a year and took place with the full support of Joachim and Christine Splichal. Along with investors, I have purchased a retail wine shop in South Pasadena called Mission Wines. My departure is a positive event.
