4 Water Agencies Sign 75-Year Agreement

Officials from four Southern California water agencies Friday signed an agreement meant to stop political bickering and prevent water shortages.
Among other things, the agreement between the San Diego County Water Authority, the Coachella Valley Water Authority, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the Imperial Irrigation District includes a 75-year deal for Imperial to sell water to San Diego. The agreement was reached after seven years of negotiations and pressure from the state and federal governments.
