Man Traverses Bottom of Loch Ness

Briton Lloyd Scott walked 26 miles across the bottom of Scotland’s Loch Ness, wearing a 1940s diving suit with a 40-pound helmet. The experience -- despite frequent rest breaks -- was “very cold and very lonely,” Scott, 41, said on emerging at Lochend, near Inverness, 12 days after leaving Fort Augustus.
Scott has worn the suit to run marathons but this was the first time he used it as designed. “You don’t know what’s underfoot -- sometimes it’s mud, silt, rocks or nothing,” he said.
“The air line also kept getting caught,” he said.
