Casting awards like the offbeat

Offbeat dramas and comedies were prominent among films and TV shows honored Wednesday night when the Casting Society of America handed out its 2003 Artios Awards.
Among people recognized for distinctive feature film contributions were Daniel Swee for “The Hours”; Lisa Beach, Sarah Katzman and John Jackson for “About Schmidt”; and Ellen Parks for “Secretary.”
HBO series ruled episodic TV as veteran casting agent Junie Lowry Johnson was honored for “Six Feet Under” and Ronnie Yeskel and Richard Hicks for “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
