Patent Suit Against Disney Is Revived

A U.S. appeals court revived a lawsuit that claims Walt Disney Co. infringed ACTV Inc.’s patents for an interactive TV system that Disney employs during broadcasts of shows including “Monday Night Football.”
ACTV, now part of Mountain View, Calif.-based OpenTV Corp., accused Disney of infringing three patents for linking television with the Internet. Disney was sued along with its ESPN and ABC networks.
Shares of Burbank-based Disney fell 10 cents to $21.46 on the New York Stock Exchange. OpenTV’s shares rose 9 cents to $4.03 on Nasdaq.
