Scientists Developing Chip to Diagnose SARS

Singapore scientists claim that as early as January they will have an electronic chip that can diagnose SARS, flu and other respiratory diseases, a newspaper said. The chip will analyze nasal fluids dropped into it, said Ren Ee Chee, Genome Institute of Singapore deputy director, the Straits Times reported.
Ren said the institute is developing the chip with a U.S. medical device manufacturer.
