Huzzahs for Hong Kong

Jane ENGLE’S article [“Hong Kong’s Metropolis of Bargains, Bustle and Beauty,” Sept. 21] hit the mark. We noticed an ad in your Travel section by the Hong Kong Tourism Board months ago and looked into their many discount packages. We took our teenage daughters with us in August.
Hong Kong is a fabulous, efficient, safe, clean and friendly city. The service we received everywhere we went was top notch. We caught up with an American friend of a friend living in Hong Kong, who informed us that the service and friendliness we experienced were not the result of suffering from the impact of SARS. Hong Kong apparently is always this wonderful.
It was a great family trip. We loved the museums, restaurants and sights. Our teenagers especially loved the shopping.
