From Times Wire Reports
Court proceedings were set to begin Tuesday in which a judge will determine whether Scott Harlan Thorpe was sane when he went on a shooting spree more than two years ago.
Thorpe, 43, pleaded guilty to killing two people at a mental health department office where he was a patient.
Thorpe also pleaded guilty to killing a manager at a Grass Valley restaurant who he was convinced had poisoned him.
The sanity proceedings are likely to take about 10 days, with testimony from more than a dozen people, including psychiatric experts.
